The Board of Directors is made up of caring, concerned adults from the community. Our board provides direction, oversight, and vision for the Executive Director. The team meets monthly for prayer, ministry updates, and strategic planning.

David Boone, Vice Chair
David grew up in Modesto. He first became involved with YFC when he helped start Tapestry in South Modesto. Through his experience, he saw the influence YFC could have in a community and the blessing it is to serve others as a positive influence. David and his wife, Katie, are raising their children, Abigail, Olivia, and Connor in Modesto. He practices as an orthopedic Physician Assistant. Davis is also involved in his local church and teaches Sunday School for the youth. He enjoys spending time with his family, travel, running, and swimming.

David graduated from Stanford University in Chemical Engineering in 1998. After a season of professional rugby, he joined the E&J Gallo Winery in 1999 as a sales representative and later a process engineer. Davis furthered his education at the University of California to earn an MS in Viticulture and Enology in 2002 and an MBA in 2004. He transferred onto Gallo’s winemaking team after graduation and has spent the past fifteen years managing different asapects of distillation. David and his wife, Erica, have two children, Jared and Rachel. They live in Modesto and are active in their local church. He enjoys coaching and playing soccer, as well as cycling.

Dean grew up in Modesto and Oakdale where he was reached by the YFC ministry during junior high. He graduated with a degree in Biology from Point Loma Nazarene University in 2000. He attended Loma Linda University School of Dentistry where he met his wife Amanda and graduated as a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2004. Dean is past president of Stanislaus Dental Society. He and Amanda have one child, Liam. They are involved at Big Valley Grace Community Church. Dean enjoys swimming, surfing, skiing, and golf.

Eric Layman, Board Member

Rev. Bob Irwin, Board Member
Bob has been a pastor for over 40 years, serving in just about every pastoral role (except Worship Pastor – which would be a big mistake!). Bob loves the local church and is honored to serve at Shelter Cove Community Church as a Staff Pastor. Bob also is the owner of Heritage Elder Care Home and Heritage Care Services with his wife and adult children.  Bob's hobbies include golf (which we hear he is a great at!), drinking coffee, and of course spending time with his wife. Bob has three adult children and three grand dogs.
